LIFE Malcolm, of counsel attorney at AsiliA Law Firm, is a Tampa native, graduated from Jesuit High School, in 1992, and entered the United States Navy, as a midshipman candidate, at the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), immediately thereafter. While attending NAPS, LIFE developed an interest in African history, which placed his political aspirations at odds with those of the Navy’s. LIFE moved to Atlanta, GA to study at Morehouse College after completing NAPS, and receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy.
In Atlanta, LIFE immersed himself in local, social and political struggles, writing and recording rap songs, that expressed his social critiques, and political theories. After living in Atlanta, for four years, LIFE returned to Tampa, maintaining his social justice efforts, in the form of rally’s, protests, and demonstrations. LIFE also expanded his artistic expressions, to the artform of spoken word.
After more than a decade of earning numerous awards and national acclaim, as full-time spoken word artist, and local prominence as a community organizer, LIFE returned to college and earned a B.A., in Africana Studies, from the University of South Florida, in 2016. In 2020, LIFE earned a Master’s in Criminal Justice, from St. Thomas University, and a Juris Doctor, from St. Thomas University School of Law.
LIFE joined AsiliA Law Firm, in 2020, combining the rules of law with his arsenal of unique experiences, as an African historian and a community organizer, to help defendants fight for justice, in Florida courts of law.
