Miami Man Behind Bars Without Bond After Alleged Corner Market Shooting
A Miami man is facing a number of criminal charges and is behind bars without bond after an alleged shooting in the Miami-Dade area on the Fourth of July. According to local news reports, a 35-year-old Miami-Dade man is facing criminal charges of second-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, criminal mischief while armed and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and shooting a deadly missile, after he allegedly attempted to rob a convenience store in the Gladeview neighborhood last Friday. Investigators believe that the 35-year-old Miami-Dade man “walked into the 18th Ave. Market, at 6600 NW 18 Ave., wielding a gun, and he ordered three people to leave….” The man then was believed to have fired shots at a customer, who was unaware of the threats that he had made. That customer was able to escape and get away from the store. Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies were able to apprehend the 35-year-old man, and they questioned him and arrested him. He was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, and he was booked into jail. Reports indicate that the 35-year-old man is being held in custody without bond. The case is ongoing, and it remains to be seen if the man will be convicted of any of the charges that he faces.
